Judge Dredd © 2008 Rebellion Developments/2000AD
Been busy with a number of things over the last week so I haven't made as much progress with the Judge Dredd samples as I'd have liked. I am reasonably happy with these first two pages though... fingers crossed they'll do the trick when I show them round at Birmingham in a month.
In completely unrelated news, I was recently interviewed about the illustration I submitted to the Just One More Book website's 'love of reading gallery'. The sound quality isn't brilliant and I think I sound like a bit of a weirdo but if you're at all interested, you can hear my chuntering responses to a variety of questions about my submission, my work and kids' books in general in a podcast on their website.

Outstanding work Kev! The palette on page 2 is very successful, especially the 3 colours for the lights in the disco which really define the crowd and environment with your edge highlights. The muted night hues and headlights are also well handled. Good ammunition for Brum I think!
It was great speaking with you about your illustration and technique. I found it incredibly interesting.
It's really unfortunate that my sound card acted up on your interview (and two others). While I take great pains to achieve great audio quality, an engaging and intersting conversation can't be faked. I did a significant clean-up of the audio (the actual recording was much worse) and published what I feel is a fascinating conversation.
Thanks, again, for an amazing submission to our Love of Reading Gallery. I'm really glad to have 'discovered' your amazing artwork and blog through our own initiative.
I love the pod cars, I really want one. The colour makes such a difference too, brilliant...
man-o-man what a hard page to draw! You nailed it!
