Illustration Friday - "Forgotten"

This week, it seems, that I have forgotten how to draw.

I was going to spout some old cobblers about getting back to a more primitive kind of art, really feeling my roots and trying to express the inner child still within me... but nah, I've just been drawing like a drunken monkey this week, my ideas haven't been much better either.

Hey Kev, chin up. Sometimes when inspiration doesn't flow it's a good idea to take a break and do something that just cheers you up. Something that wakes you up and get's the mind buzzing again, like a big long walk in the country, or a picnic by a lake, ideally with someone else. Preferably something a bit more active than watching a film, though that can work for some people.

Whatever you do, don't just plough on through. do something to shake you out of your state.

You're an awesome artist, and don't ever forgat that.

I friggin HATE weeks like that! I am sorry that you are going through that...I always wonder if I'll ever get out of it..and then do. You will too. I like the picture though. It totally shows frustration, humility and humor.

I think you should go and see Hulk (it is brilliant and the visuals are really interesting) and take a break before getting back to it. As always, your stuff has been great recently (I especially liked the expression of the baby) so don't worry too much. Hope things get better soon and let Rob and I know if there is anything we can do. Hopefully see you soon too.

we live high enough that we aren't having any problems..but there have been a lot of businesses and homes affected. All we have is a small puddle in the basement.(thank god!) I took a ton of pictures of the river swelled up and all the sand bags...its been interesting, as we just moved here from Michigan last spring.
Thanks for your concern! I can't believe they are talking about Des Moines all the way in the UK!
